Make it stand out

Our top tips on improving your casting profile

  • To be considered for a role your profile must include photos that show exactly what you look like. We recommend 3 current photos

    -FRONT facing

    - SIDE facing

    -FULL length

These photos should be taken in good light and against a plain background. If your hair is long please wear it down so we can see the length. These should be natural passport style photos. No hats, no sunglasses, no jazzy filters. If you have any big tattoos we also recommend having photos of these on your profile.

  • We are often looking for supporting artists with specific skills - eg Rowing, Salsa dancing, acrobatics, SPACT experience. If you have any hobbies or skills please make sure you select them from the drop down on your profile. Please honestly select your level of experience.

  • Before you can be booked for a role we must have proof that you have the right to work in the UK entertainment industry.
Make sure your right to work documentation is current and uploaded to your profile.
For British and Irish citizens this is a scan of your passport photo page OR proof of your national insurance number & birth certificate.
For all other nationalities this is a scan of your passport photo page AND a valid nine-character Home Office share code. Get your share code here.

  • A DBS is a certificate that you can apply for that details any unspent convictions you may have.
Whilst it is not essential for all projects, some production companies will only hire those with a current DBS certificate issued within the last 18 months. They are regularly asked for also on projects that involve under 18s to ensure those working around minors have no unspent convictions for sex offences. If you are able to, we recommend obtaining a DBS and uploading a copy of your certificate to the payment section of your profile. You can apply here.

  • Who wouldn’t love to get a role on their doorstep, well this is the way to do just that.
Make sure your full address is on your profile, and that you have selected the counties you are happy or able to work in.
It is essential you are also realistic. If you have family in another city or area that can put you up at short notice then great, make sure you have selected it as an option. But remember most filming days are long and include very early starts, so if you select a location, make sure it is somewhere you can actually get to easily.

  • Have a look, if you created your profile a long time ago you may not have your most up to date contact details on there. Mobile numbers and emails are the most important as this is the way we communicate with you.

  • We all change size for a number of reasons, and lots of roles, especially period productions have very specific costume sizes. The more measurements you fill out the more you will come up in our casts. Honesty and accuracy is the key so revisit these regularly.
